We mourn. We talk about change. We Forget. And we do nothing.

I am one of the organizers of this project (Katie Nowak) and I participated on the first day with Catherine Barrett, and I can honestly say that this was one of the most active I’ve felt in a while. Granted, our day did consist of my partner and I attending Youth Gun Reform Advocacy Day which had events where we spoke to senators and voiced our opinions, but sitting in the lobby and having people come up and ask questions about this made me feel like I was making a difference. There was a woman who came up to us early on in the day with questions about why we were here, and I told her all about the victim we were there to represent. I felt like I was informing the public and really keeping this issue relevant, as is the goal. This was a truly unique experience and I would recommend it to anyone who feels strongly about the issue of school gun violence. It reminds people of the emotions that go along with school shootings, not just the statistics.
